No repairs done and now want me to move out, should I call a lawyer?

I rented this house 2 months ago. Before I rented it I saw several things in the house that needed repair and the letting agents asked me to sent a list of things, which I did and they said all repairs would be done.

I moved in, some things were done but other ones the landlord refused to do. The letting agents finanlly after many emails and phone calls from me came to do an assessment to the house and realized the house has a looooot of issues, like leaks, broken stuff, electricity problems, etc.

The landlord doesn't want to fix things, so the letting agents sent me an email giving me a notice of 2 months to move out (they said they'll help me find a new house). I said ok and even asked if I can leave before the 2 months, since I have a small child and we don't feel safe living here. I'm still waiting to know from them.

I just want to know if I have the legal right to ask for some form of compensation, because this was clearly negligence from both the landlord and the letting agents.

The landlord not wanting to do the repairs and the letting agents not doing an assessment before renting and letting someone renting the house in these conditions.

I just feel this is not fair, and I paid my rent in full and on time all months I've been here.

What do you think about this? Should I consult a lawyer and ask for some form of compensation?

Thank you.
